CUBA

It all started in Cuba where Ángel Luis Ford Mesa spent a number of years managing and producing Cuban dance groups (e.g. Compañía Danza Jaguey) within Cuba and abroad. Next to that he has been teaching Art and Musicology at several Cuban universities and researching about the origins of Cuban culture.

NETHERLANDS

In 2000 Ángel founded his own dance and music school in Amsterdam. Originally by the name El Punto Cubano. Nowadays under the name Punto Cubano Salsa Amsterdam.

For more than twenty years, he has been teaching various Cuban dance and music styles. From Changüi (dance originally from Guantánamo, Angel's birthplace) to Son, Rumba and modern dance styles.

Ángel is an experienced teacher, dancer and choreographer. His lessons and choreographies are based on the real Cuban way of dancing. A physical expression of the lush Cuban music.

Together with a team of enthusiastic teachers, assistants and hosts we teach all Cuban dance styles and rhythms. Such as Salsa, Rueda de Casino, Rumba, Son, Mambo, Chachacha, Pilón, etc.

Next to that we organize weekly socials and monthly authentic Cuban Salsa parties.
