TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These terms and conditions apply to anyone who registers for and/or participates in activities organised by dance school Punto Cubano Salsa Amsterdam.

1. Registration lessons

1.1 Every participant who registers for a course/activity needs to register/create an account to make purchases on the website.

1.2 During the purchase procedure of a course, all relevant information about the classes that are included in this courses is explained. Thereby dates, times, amount of classes and applied rates are clearly listed. By registering for one or more classes/courses, you commit to the full fee of the class(es) that are involved in your purchase.

1.3 Each student can register for the course level of his/her preference. If according to the teachers, this level does not match, changes to another group will take place in consultation with the student. Because of this it is possible that a change of time takes place after the student has already registered.

1.4 Punto Cubano Salsa Amsterdam determines when a student is ready to move on to the next level. Punto Cubano Salsa Amsterdam determines the teacher who will teach the class.

1.5 We assume that, as long as you take lessons with us, you will read the emails we sent you so that you are and remain informed of relevant matters concerning the ongoing class.

1.6 Punto Cubano Salsa Amsterdam reserves the right to change the location where the lessons are given, if this appears to be necessary due to unforeseen circumstances. You will be informed about any changes as timely as possible.

​1.7 At Punto Cubano Salsa Amsterdam lessons are taught without any type of audience. Only with the approval of the teacher and attendants, outsiders may be allowed to watch during the lesson.

1.8 Punto Cubano Salsa Amsterdam reserves the right and autonomy to decide which teacher is teaching, which content is given, which language is spoken, which music is played and any other related aspect that defines the offer of the class. Students agree to respect the decision of the school.

1.9 Punto Cubano Salsa Amsterdam reserves the right to refuse anyone to participate in a course or activity without giving reasons.

2. Your personal information

2.1 Your data is collected for internal use via our own platform and partners that we work with.

2.2 By registering as a (new) participant in our classes and/or activities, you agree that your data will be used for communication and marketing purposes. This means that your e-mail address will be used to send e-mails in which we: communicate about lessons and activities and other relevant information from the dance school. We will use your date of birth to send you personal offers in the future. We will use your telephone number when we try to contact you directly for an urgent situation, ad hoc schedule changes and/or any questions about (ad-hoc) incidents during lessons with which we try to keep the leader-follower ratio equal per lesson.

2.3 Your data will not be knowingly shared with third parties without your permission.

2.4 During our lessons/activities, video and photo recordings can be made that we use for promotional purposes. If the student does not wish to appear on a recording, the student must indicate this to the person making the recording. You may be asked to step aside from the lesson/activity that is being recorded, so the material can be used for our promotional activities.

3. Rules when a student cancels and/or requests a refund

3.1 Cancellation of a full course can be done until one week before the start of the first class of the course.

3.2 Cancellation takes place through the Manage Your Booking button, that can be found in the confirmation email when you bought the course.

3.3 In order to request a refund an email/whatsapp should be sent, at least one week before the start of the first class of the course.

3.4 It is not possible to request a refund for a course less than one week before the start of the first class of the course, nor when a course has already started.

3.5 Medically related deregistration and refunds is not possible. If for medical reasons, you are no longer able to attend the (remaining) class(es) of your course, please let us know as soon as possible. We are open to investigate a solution with you. However, we always remain the right to not facilitate postponing your booking(s) for whatever reason.

4. Rules when a student is not able to join a class/course and the duty to always cancel

41. If you are following a course and cannot attend a particular class, you need to cancel.

4.2 Cancellation should be done as soon as possible by ideally 24 hours before the class that is misse

4.3 Cancellation can only be done via the Manage Your Booking button. This button can be found in the confirmation emails you receive about the course classes.

4.4 We trust all our students to only cancel classes in unforeseen, extreme and/or force majeure situations. Like illness and/or other important reasons not to be present.

4.5 Every switch requires a lot of planning from the limited recourses of our team, we trust every student to be mindful about when you cancel and request for a recover class.

4.6 We do not encourage the facilitation of switches between days and groups, as a strategy of our school.

4.7 We provide partner dances, for which an equal amount of leaders and follower is required. This requires discipline from all attendants.

4.8 To register for a lesson/course, a student must comply with the rule to always cancel when participation is no longer possible.

4.9 The student is aware that cancellation is essential to maintain equal ratios in every class. Which is needed guarantee full participation of every attendant and thereby high quality and effectiveness of the classes.

4.10 Inability to join a class/course that has yet been paid, does not deprive the payment obligation in any way.

5. Rules when a student requests to catch up (a) class(es)

5.1 If you are interested to recover a missed class this is only possible under the following conditions:

  • You have informed Punto Cubano Salsa Amsterdam via de Manage Your Booking button at least 24 hours

  • You added yourself to one for the Whatsapp Groups (for Leaders and for Followers) that Punto Cubano Salsa Amsterdam created.
    These closed groups are in place to inform registered students on the day itself which class spots are available. Thereby we intent to better match the ratios in every class.

5.2 If you are informed there is an available class spot for you to recover, you can contact us on the day itself. We will sent you a booking link and a booking code. With that you can subscribe yourself.

5.3 If an unequal leader/follower ratio arises, catching up classes will not be possible. For this reason we cannot guarantee recovering classes will be possible.

5.4 Missed classes can only be recovered within the same course block and at the same level as the class that is missed.

5.5 If you want to change day/time/level of your course, you can contact us and we will discuss your request with you in more detail.

6. Rules when a students wants to reschedule a single class

6.1 Rescheduling of single classes is possible up to 24 hours before the start of the class.

6.2 Rescheduling can only be done via our booking system. Therefore use the Manage Your Booking button, that can be found in the confirmation email when you bought the class.

6.3 A single class that is part of a Level 1 course, can be rescheduled until the 3rd class of that same course. After that is not possible to reschedule and the class is lost.

6.4 A single class that is part of a course in Level 2 and higher, can be rescheduled until the last class of that same course. After that it is not possible to reschedule and the class is lost.

7. Rules when Punto Cubano Salsa Amsterdam needs to cancel classes/courses

7.1 In the case that Punto Cubano Salsa Amsterdam has to cancel classes because there are not enough participants and/or in the event of a force majeure situation, the student will be refunded the (remaining) tuition fee (of the remaining classes) and/or an alternative is offered. 

7.2 As a dance school we will at all time strive to offer all the classes of the courses we offer. Due to unforeseen circumstances, it may happen that (remaining) classes of a ongoing courses have to be canceled and/or merged with another course on another day/time.

7.3 A suitable solution is sought with every involved student. If it is not possible to reschedule the (remaining) class(es) we could not offer, only the non-offered classes will be refunded.

8. Payments

8.1 All payments are made through our partner Stripe.

8.2 The price of all our offers include taxes, administration and operational costs.

8.3 Payments are non-returnable, are personal and relate to the period and dates for which registration is made.

8.4 First, a single class or a full course with specific moment(s), is selected via the website (https://puntocubano.nl). Second, to confirm the selection and make the actual booking, the payment needs to be successful.

9. Hygiene and Safety

9.1 Salsa dancing is a recreational activity that requires physical contact. It is very important that everyone is clean and hygienic in the lessons/activities.

9.2 It is very important that everyone feels safe to dance together. Unacceptable behavior is not allowed.

9.3 We expect that everyone who participates in our activities will treat the other participants with respect. If this is not the case, Punto Cubano Salsa Amsterdam reserves the right to hold people accountable for this. Failure to reach agreement may result in refusal of further participation.

10. Damage or Loss at Partner Locations

10.1 Visiting and following our dance lessons and activities is entirely at your own risk.

10.2 We are not liable for any injuries and/or any other form of harm suffered before, during or after the classes and activities we provide.

10.3 We are not liable for damage, loss and/or theft of any kind, as a result of your stay at the location and/or participation in our classes/activities at the location(s) where these activities/lessons take place.

10.4 Loss or damage caused to property (movable and immovable goods) of the partner organization and/or venue, through the actions of a visitor or a hired freelancer, will at all times be recovered from the relevant person.
